Sample Recipe
Guacamole 2.0 Tomato Upgrade
Ingredients:
3 ripe avocados
1 medium tomato, diced
¼ cup red onion, finely chopped
1 small jalapeño, finely chopped (Muy picante!)
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
Juice of 1 lime
Cumin, salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Mash the Avocados: Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl. Then, mash to your desired consistency. Mashing avocados is practically stress relief therapy.
Fold in Other Veggies: Add the red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, and garlic to the bowl. Now for the controversy, adding tomatoes? Some say that’s like inviting a talkative cousin to a quiet family gathering—some people love it, some strongly object, but either way, it’s making an entrance!
A Fresh Lime Squeeze: Don ‘t forget the lime juice! Or your guac will age faster than I do in Monday meetings. And… season: A little salt, black pepper, and cumin. Keep folding to combine.
Enjoy immediately with tortilla chips, tacos, or as a topping for grilled dishes.
Tip: If not serving right away, cover with plastic wrap directly on the guacamole surface to prevent browning.
